2017 International Carbon Industry Forum (ICIF 2017) was held

Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gumi City held the '2017 International Carbon Industry Forum (ICIF 2017)' at GUMIKO for 2 days from September 14, attended by 1,300 people from industry, academy, research, and government.

Being 3 years old and placed as the representative carbon form of Korea, the International Carbon Industry Forum was composed of Special Symposium for International Carbon Industry, lectures on the development direction of carbon industry, etc. with the theme of "The 4thIndustrialRevolutionAge.

As subsidiary events, the Carbon Industry Exhibition where carbon material applied products of national or international companies were exhibited and the Carbon Experience Zone to help general people understand carbon industry through carbon product experience.

At the Special International Symposium on Carbon Industry, which will be held with keynote addresses and lectures of invited foreign lecturers, Chairman Gunnar Merz of CFK-Valley, the biggest carbon industry cluster in the north of Germany made the keynote address with the subject, "Our Future based on CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics)" and 4 carbon material researches and experts in the world including Dr. Reden (MAI Carbon, Germany), Dr. Kevin Carrigan (AMRC, UK), and Dr. Mueller (German Investment Corporation, Germany) were Invited to give the lectures on the recent achievements and trends of the recent researches in the field of carbon material.

This International Carbon Industry Forum was planned to build a global win-win partnership among industry, academy, research, and government and prepare a turning point for making a leap forward in the Korean carbon industry in order to nurture the carbon industry as a new and future cash cow industry. It will also be a good stimulus for the technological development of domestic researchers and related companies as we will be able to view the future development direction of the global carbon material research and industry by presenting the carbon material research results from all countries of the

Gumi City Mayor, Nam Yu-jin said, "With the launch of the 2017 International Carbon Industry Forum (ICIF 2017) and the CFK Valley Korea, the carbon industry, a dream industry in the 21st century, will grow as a representative future cash cow industry not only for Gumi but also the whole Korea by expanding the global network among industry, academy, research, and government and making use of the carbon material study result until now. In addition, I will do my best to make Gumi take the position of the global carbon industry leader by composing the carbon industry cluster that will start on a full scale this year successfully and executing various policies to attract and support carbon companies.
