Singapore Sentosa Express concludes monorail maintenance business with Daegu in Korea

The Daegu Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation(below DTRO) will run the operation and maintenance business for the Singapore’s Sentosa Monorail together with SDC, who is responsible for the development and operation of Sentosa Island in Singapore.

The DTRO signed a contract for operation and management of the monorail of Sentosa Express with ​​the total project cost of 18.6 billion won in 5 years from March 2019 to 2023.

The DTRO is positioned as a stepping stone for Daegu civilians, which is being used by 500,000 people a day. Through this project, the DTRO will be internationally recognized in the field of monorail operation and maintenance management and this will become a positive bridgehead for entering the Southeast Asian monorail and light rail market for the days to come.

Singapore's Sentosa Island is well known for its recent North Korea-US summit and is visited by about 19 million tourists each year. A monorail that crosses the north and south of Sentosa, the Sentosa Express is the most convenient means of transportation for tourists.
