Gumi city has held the 2019 international Carbon Industry Forum, which is the representative carbon forum for Korea and held for the fifth time this year with the theme of ‘Daily carbon materials of 5G era’ for two days from September 19th to 20th. It was proceeded with special lectures by invited speakers from overseas and a conference on the development plans of the carbon industry by domestic carbon experts.
The forum started with a keynote speech by Gunnar Merz, Chairman of CFK-Valley, the largest carbon industry cluster in northern Germany, and guest lectures introduced the trends of the overseas advanced carbon industry market with Sven Blanck, Deputy CEO of the MAI-Carbon Cluster, a global carbon composite material cluster in southern Germany, and Park Chung-hae, Professor of IMT Lille-Douai in France.
Including the Toray advanced materials that lead the world’s carbon fiber industry, twenty-five of various carbon-related companies and research institutes maternalized the carbon industry value-chain from yarn to resin, parts, and finished products. The forum thoroughly prepared the carbon industry zone, where all of the carbon industry can be seen at a glance.
It is expected to enhance understanding of carbon materials that general citizens may be unfamiliar with and promote consensus on material utilization through publicity of daily carbon products made of carbon materials and easy and clear guidance of related technical data.
